Something I almost never say no to is blue & white tie-dye. That’s why when I found this dress at Urban Outfitters for $39.99, I did a little happy dance. With a halter neck, low back, high-low cut and flowy fabric, what’s not to love? I wore this over the weekend when it was 102 degrees — because let’s face it, nothing except loose backless dresses works for 102 degree weather.
Since this dress was on sale, it’s not able to be ordered online anymore😢 Here is something similar that’s not on sale, but that doesn’t mean your local Urban doesn’t have any left in its clearance section! When I went shopping on Friday they had several sizes in 3 different colors (rose ombré, navy ombré and tie-dye) so your store might have some too!
I paired this dress with layered gold jewelry that came from Forever 21 (The long one is here and the middle one here) and Pixley Pressed (shortest necklace here). My middle necklace came as a layered necklace with a suede choker, but I didn’t like the way it worked with my other necklace so I cut it off. The best part of Forever 21’s jewelry is that it’s only like 4 dollars so you can alter it and not feel bad if it gets messed up and needs to be thrown away. Hands up for no-stress jewelry modification!
My shoes are by New Look (here). I got them from Asos because I’m in the good ol’ US and Asos offers free shipping AND free returns across the pond. New Look only offers free shipping, but right now they’re out of stock on Asos so New Look is the next best option.
Something to note about this dress is that it’s low back and has low sleeves. It can definitely get a little side-booby if you know what I mean. This could easily be fixed with a bandeau, but I’m not blessed in the chest department so I felt comfortable with just sticky boobs. Plus, I like the backless look! But if you’re going to a place where you’re going to be bending down a lot or maybe shimmying to some oldies, I would throw on either a navy or white bandeau that matches the tie-dye to avoid a moment similar to Janet Jackson at the Superbowl.
You can also tie the side of the dress if you feel like it’s too long. I like it both ways, but I feel like the tie kept some of the fabric out of the way when I was walking around. But I also like the dress’s easy breezy high-low silhouette without the tie, so it’s really just a win-win. Which way do you guys like better? Let me know✌🏻
