I know what you’re probably thinking… “Skort”? Isn’t that what I wore when I was in kindergarten? And the answer is yes. You probably did. I definitely did, and I freakin’ loved that article of clothing. It’s got the girliness of a skirt but you don’t have to worry about bending over and accidentally flashing a passerby. Plus you seem pretty trendy because skorts break the short/skirt mold!
I found this cute skort at Zara for only $19.99, which rocks because it really marks like all the boxes on my shopping must-haves list. Comfortable, check. Versatile, check. Affordable, double check! Even better, it’s available online! Check it out here.
I paired the skort with a denim shirt by Paper Crane that I got on sale at Marshall’s for only ten bucks. Which means that the majority of this outfit cost me $30. Ugh, I love sale shopping. There’s nothing more satisfying than putting together an outfit for less than what some people spend on a dinner date!
Zara is a relatively new store in the mall closest to me and I think I really like it. Especially right now — I think everything is on sale!
My sandals are from TOMS and I got them like 2 years ago at Nordstrom Rack. They actually give me blisters but when I tried them on my feet already hurt from shopping all day in San Francisco so I couldn’t tell! I still like them a lot though, the denim print goes with almost everything and the sole is a little bit squishy which makes them comfortable. Here’s a similar pair (not for Nordstrom Rack prices but still, similar!) and then here’s some from the rack that are the same style but a different color.
My necklaces are the same ones that I wore in this post — simple layering necklaces from Forever 21!
Also, this look is accidentally patriotic — but would totally work for a backyard 4th of July BBQ. I’ll most likely be hanging out in my red, white & blue bikini by the pool during this holiday weekend, but if I have a need to dress up this will be what I wear! What do you guys usually wear on the 4th of July? (Question geared at my American readers, unless my international homies are out there celebrating America too😋)
