2 Ways to Wear a Mauve Button Skirt

Blush Button Up Skirt: Featured Image

Hey guys!

If you follow me on Instagram you saw this great mauve pink skirt I posted about last week. I’m so excited to get it up on the blog today because it’s a great go-to when you want to look a little better than casual, and it was a steal at only $14.90! When I first made the purchase I was hesitant because I didn’t know how much I would wear it, but as time has passed I’ve found that I keep reaching for it while getting dressed in the morning. (OK, let’s be honest… getting dressed in the afternoon…)

Since this skirt was such a great deal, I put together 2 ways to wear it for occasions such as casual brunch dates with friends or for back-to-school. I actually wore the second outfit to the first day of my college orientation and it was comfortable and perfect for those ever-important first impressions!

Look One: Mauve, Black & White

I think mauve might be one of my new favorite colors in clothing. It’s hard because my skin is so fair, sometimes I can’t wear it because the color matches the color of my skin too closely. It just seems like the perfect shade for the transition between summer and fall – pink is fresh and light, but the mauve shade makes it deep enough to work with darker colors and thicker, sweater-y textures.

I bought this cropped stripe top at American Eagle a while ago and it’s honestly so comfy. Have you guys ever bought something from their “soft & sexy line”? Seriously so soft. Definitely check it out! I haven’t shopped at American Eagle in a while, but this t-shirt reminded me to give the other stuff in that collection a second look.

Also, I just bought these sandals and I love them for just a basic wear-everywhere shoe! I actually bought them in two colors, as you’ll see in the next look 🙈 They’re under 25 dollars and I love the stitching detail on the toe – you can’t see it as much on the black pair but you’ll notice on the brown color. Which brings me to the next look!

Look Two: A Loose White Shirt

Seriously everything goes with a basic white shirt, and this outfit is no exception! It’s always good to have a few white shirt options that you can wear with virtually any bottom you buy. I think now I have an issue where I maybe overbuy white shirts because I always convince myself of its versatility and outfit pairing possibilities. I linked a couple white shirts that I thought would go well with this skirt, even if they’re not all super similar to the one I have on!

In other news, I’m finally getting settled into my new place and I’m loving it so far. San Luis Obispo is beautiful and there’s so much to do here! Only a month ’til school starts for me, so I’m trying to enjoy my free time while it lasts☺️

xoxo, danika
